So this post is mainly dedicated to my new love, The Wardrobe Angel who literally does magical things to my wardrobe. I first came across the lovely Wardrobe Angel (aka Stephanie Roper) when I was given a Wardrobe Angel voucher for my birthday last November and am now hooked! After my first session back in February I was sorted for the whole of spring and then when I started to think about a holiday/summer wardrobe Steph was my first port of call. As a stay at home mum the luxury of spending a day (or even an hour) shopping is non existent and any desperate attempts always end with a frazzled me and a bored Bea so having an actual clothes fairy godmother is my idea of heaven.
On this occasion we spent 3hours going through all my summer clothes, had a chat about what I was up to over the summer and how we could make my wardrobe work harder for me. Steph has such a cool style and I love the fact that she takes items from my existing wardrobe and styles them in a whole new way giving a new lease of life to old rags (so to speak) takes photos of me in all the newly styled outfits and then in the course of the following week sends a shopping list of items that will bring the wardrobe bang up to date, very on trend and all with hyperlinks (essential for a quick online shop during nap time) so just a click away should I wish to buy!
On this occasion I also had an unworn maxi dress bought in Cape Town, I loved the print but not the dress so Steph suggested I find a local seamstress who could make the dress into separate trousers and top. So I did and found the amazing and absolutely lovely Gemma McLaughlin based in Thames Ditton who has done the most fabulous job – the finished products are now two of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe!
I heartily recommend both Steph and Gemma, I love that they’re both independent business women, Gemma is also local, so both happily sit within my ethos of shopping indy and shopping local, if you need a good fashion fix, alterations or stunning wedding dress or both then these are the ladies to call – say ‘Yay for Girl Power!’
